Buy IBC Totes

Reconditioned, food-grade and new tanks in stock and ready to ship.

How it works, briefly

We sell reconditioned, food-grade and new IBC totes by the unit or by the truckload. Tell us your product, volume and grade requirement and we will match you to the right tank — usually the reused one that costs and pollutes less.

Why it’s greener

Every tank you buy reconditioned instead of new is a measurable cut in your Scope 3 packaging emissions.

Buy IBC Totes

Buying totes should be simple: tell us what you’re storing and how much you move, and we match you to the right grade at the right price — usually a reconditioned tank that costs and pollutes less than new. We sell by the single unit or the full truckload of forty, with prior-contents history on every reconditioned tank and food-grade or UN-rated options when you need them.

Because we handle the entire lifecycle in-house, there are no middlemen inflating the price or guessing at a tank’s history. The tank you buy comes with the documentation to back its grade, and when you’re done we’ll buy it back or collect it for reconditioning.

Detailed walkthrough

Every step, explained.

Here’s exactly what happens from the moment you reach out to the moment the job is done.

01

Submit your request

Use our email form. Tell us what you’re storing, volume, any food-grade or UN requirements, and whether you prefer pickup or delivery.

02

We pull stock and grade options

We search current inventory for tanks whose prior contents and grade align with your use. If multiple grades fit, we list them with the price difference.

03

Quote by email, one business day

You receive a clear quote: unit count, grade, delivered price and lead time. No phone required, no vague estimates.

04

You confirm and we prepare

Once you confirm, we pull, stage and prep the tanks — checking that each one matches the grade on the invoice before it leaves the yard.

05

Pickup or freight delivery

Local customers pick up at our Peoria yard. Midwest freight is scheduled to hit your loading dock on your timeline, full truckload or LTL.

06

Close the loop later

When you’re done with the tanks, reach out. We’ll buy them back or collect them for reconditioning — keeping them out of the trash stream.

02

1 business day

You receive a delivered quote by email — no phone tag.

03

This week

Local pickup or scheduled Midwest freight, single units to truckloads.

What affects your quote: Grade (rinsed, industrial, food-grade, rebottled, new) · Quantity — per-unit price drops with volume and full loads · Delivery distance from Peoria vs. local pickup · Any certification or documentation your use requires
Pricing

What goes into the number.

We quote every job individually by email. Here are the variables that shape what you’ll see in that quote — no surprises.

  • Grade level: rinsed industrial < rebottled < food-grade < new
  • Quantity: volume pricing kicks in at pallet and truckload quantities
  • Delivery distance from Peoria — LTL vs. full-load freight rate
  • Rush or same-week availability vs. scheduled lead time
  • Specialty fittings, valves or certification requirements
Documentation

What you receive.

Every transaction generates documents. Here’s what you’ll have for your records, procurement file or sustainability report.

  • Grade tag identifying recondition type and inspector
  • Prior-contents disclosure for reconditioned tanks
  • Bill of lading for freight shipments
  • Pressure-test record on every unit shipped

Safety & compliance

How we keep things safe, documented and audit-ready.

Safety practices

  • Never store a product whose prior contents are incompatible — check the history we provide
  • Inspect the valve, cap and pallet for damage on arrival before filling
  • Keep totes on a level, stable surface away from direct flame or heat sources
  • Do not stack reconditioned totes more than two high without racking
  • Check local fire-code limits for flammable liquid storage volumes

Compliance notes

  • Reconditioned UN-rated IBCs are recertified under DOT 49 CFR §178.700 standards
  • Food-grade designation follows FDA contact-material guidelines for HDPE
  • Grade tags travel with the tank and serve as your audit trail for regulatory inspections
  • If you’re storing a regulated hazardous material, verify compatibility and labeling requirements before filling
Why IBC Solutions Illinois

We do the whole job. In-house. Documented.

Email-first quoting

Every request gets a written quote within one business day — quantity, grade, delivered price and lead time in a single reply. No phone tag, no vague "call for pricing."

In-house full lifecycle

We buy, recondition, transport and recycle in one operation. No middlemen. No outsourced reconditioning that we can’t verify. The tank you get is the tank we processed.

Documented to the tote

Grade tags, prior-contents disclosure, pressure-test records and bills of lading travel with every unit. Your QA team and auditors get the paper trail they need.

Reuse-first philosophy

We recondition before we recycle, and we recycle before we landfill. That’s the correct order — and it’s how we run every tank that comes through the yard.

The green angle

Real sustainability numbers, not marketing fluff.

Reuse beats recycling. Recycling beats landfill. We operate that hierarchy on every tank, every time — and we give you the documentation to prove it to your auditors.

~90 lb

Steel saved per cage reused

The steel cage and pallet are the heaviest, most carbon-intensive parts of an IBC. Every reuse cycle avoids remaking them from ore.

275–330 gal

Per tote vs. ~50 drums

An IBC replaces 5–7 drums per trip, slashing packaging count, handling time and transport emissions at once.

Zero

Landfill goal for end-of-life tanks

HDPE reground, steel recovered, pallets repaired or chipped. When a tank is truly done, every component still has a next life.

Scope 3

Documented reductions

Reconditioning and recycling records support your Scope 3 Category 1 and Category 4 packaging emissions reporting.

Buy IBC Totes — FAQs

Can I buy just one tote?
Yes. We sell single units for local pickup or freight, all the way up to full truckloads of forty. Volume lowers the per-unit price.
Will you tell me what the tank held before?
Every reconditioned unit carries its prior-contents history so you can confirm compatibility with your product.
How fast can I get totes?
Most local orders are ready within the week; we quote by email within one business day of your request.
Do you offer volume pricing?
Yes — pallet quantities and full truckloads earn better per-unit pricing. Ask in the form and we’ll break it down.
What sizes do you carry?
We stock both 275-gallon and 330-gallon IBCs. Tell us your volume and footprint constraints and we’ll point you to the right size.
Can I specify valve type or fitting size?
Absolutely. Standard 2-inch butterfly valves are the default, but we can match specific outlet sizes or configurations. Include that detail in your quote request.
Do reconditioned totes look different from new?
They may show minor cosmetic marks from prior use, but structurally and functionally they meet the same standard. Grade tags document what was done and what was verified.
What if a tank doesn’t work when I receive it?
Every unit is pressure-tested before it leaves us. If something isn’t right, email us and we’ll sort it out quickly.
