What does "reconditioned" actually mean?
A reconditioned IBC tote has been returned from service, inspected, washed to a documented standard, and certified for reuse. The steel cage and pallet are typically the same units that left the original manufacturer; the bottle may be the original (washed) or a fresh replacement (rebottled). The grade tag reflects the cleaning process and prior-contents history, not just the appearance of the tank.
Is a food-grade reconditioned tote safe for my product?
Yes — when the documentation supports it. A food-grade tote that only ever held FDA-recognized food-safe products, was washed to a validated standard, and has a traceable prior-contents record is appropriate for most food, beverage, agriculture and consumable liquid applications. Ask for the prior-contents log and the wash record before accepting any food-grade claim.
What is the minimum order?
We do not enforce a strict minimum, but freight economics make single-tote orders expensive per unit. Most buyers order in multiples of four or more to share LTL freight cost. Full truckloads of approximately 40 totes offer the lowest delivered price per unit. Contact us for pricing at your volume.
Which grade is right for rainwater harvesting?
A food-grade or rinsed-grade tote whose prior contents were clearly non-toxic (soaps, food ingredients, clean water) is appropriate for rainwater. Never use a tote that held pesticides, herbicides, solvents or petroleum products for garden or agricultural water, regardless of how much it has been washed. When in doubt, choose food-grade — the documentation removes the guesswork.
How do I get a quote?
Use the Get a Quote form on this site or email info@ibcsolutionsillinois.com. We need four things: grade (food, rebottled, industrial or rinsed), size (275 or 330 gallon), approximate quantity, and your delivery zip code. We respond with a firm price and freight estimate within one business day.
What are typical lead times?
For Illinois and Midwest buyers, most orders ship within one to two business days and arrive within one additional business day of dispatch. Urgent orders placed before noon are often processed same-day. Lead times for large truckload orders or specialty grades may be slightly longer — ask when you request a quote.
